Marion is a city in Crittenden County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 8,901 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Crittenden CountyGR6, and is part of the Memphis metropolitan area.
Both Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway operate major intermodal freight terminals near Marion.
A large site near Marion was the first runner-up for a Toyota automobile plant that eventually went to San Antonio, Texas; some business reports indicate that Toyota will eventually build an automobile plant at the site (which would be the first such plant in the state of Arkansas).
